  • All exams must be taken. Otherwise the final grade will be F regardless of the numerical grades.
  • Attending the lectures is essential for the proper understanding of the material. The students are responsible for all the material discussed in class. Attendance requirements are stated in the CSU Undergraduate Bulletin.
  • Some of you have signed for the writing course version of PHY233, which is called PHY236, in order to satisfy the writing requirements. You will write three essays using WORD PERFECT, or WORD or other word processor with a spell and grammar checker.

ESSAY#1: about 1000 words about Physics B including an outline of Electricity and Magnetism; it is due TU, April 28; I will return this essay with my comments.

ESSAY#2: about 500 words about LAB#3; it is due TU, May 12; I will not return this essay.

ESSAY#3: about 500 words about LAB#5; it is due TU, May 26; I will not return this essay.

You need a total of about 2000 words. The writing is graded as pass or fail. If you fail the writing component of the course then you fail the course. If you pass the writing component of the course then your grade is determined by exams, quizzes, homework, and labs as explained above.
